Rose

She throws lies around
Like the ocean waves throw down the tides
They’re breaking on his shore
And the rescue team won’t save him
He’s too far out

Stranded on an island
He sleeps with the sunrise
Watching hours pass away
Waiting for dusk
To kill the day

In his dreams

He saw in red
It was him that she betrayed
Like a little girl
She had ran away

As he sat there stranded in a careless hue
The roses lift their heads
To catch a glimpse of his grand demise

Love is like a wilted rose
The seasons change
And all the pinks reds and whites
Have turned to brown
