Are You The One

ask yourself

Are you the one to steal my heart completely?

Are you the one to paint my life so brightly?

Are you the one that I am to adore?
Are you the one that I have waited for?
Are you the one that causes my heart astir?
Are you the one that makes everything seem so blur?

Are you the one I simply can't ignore?
Are you the one that I have waited for?
Are you the one that puts a smile on my face?
Are you the one that sets my heart ablaze?

Are you the one that gets me singing?
Are you the one that get me thinking?

Are you the one that gets my heart blind?
Are you the one that could only be so kind?

Are you the one that makes me want to know your every care?
Are you the one that I’d wish would always be there?

Are you the one that holds the key?
Are you the one who could only be for me?

Are you the one that I wish love could be true?
Are you the one that leaves my heart without a clue?

Are you the one that I could never live without?
Are you the one that leaves me without a doubt?

Are you the one who gets me addicted?
Are you the one that I get so afflicted?

Are you the one who I want to be with every night?
Are you the one I’d never fight?

But for all the questions I pose
It all seemed so easy
The moment you walked by

Fallen

something meaningful

Watch the pattern ever changing
In the tapestry of fate
Weft, weave and interlace
Silken strands that fabricate
Outside looking in -- observing
Feelings that I find unnerving
Dying with my eyes wide open

The endless void that lies beyond
With gaping jaws it beckons me
I cast my worldly flesh aside and
Plunge into eternity

Once light hearted I departed
On my quest, hope courted
Now a new love is my true love
And her name is misery

Eyes as dark as midnight ravens
Gems that filled my mind with awe
Enthrall my heart
Distract me from her milk-white hands
Stained red with gore

And I plummet like a shooting-star
That shines so bright yet falls so far
Shafts of moonlight guide me
To the world that waits below
Helpless and alone.

The fetters that bound me are broken
By words that were best left unspoken
For now I am shackled to sadness
By chains that are tempered with madness.

And like a flower that refuses to bloom
You deprive the world of your smile
It’s a cruel thing you’re doing, how vile

Like the snake that calls the lizard a reptile
Like the chimp who calls the jester a clown
When I tell myself how it was all worthwhile
My knees fall on to the ground

I can’t find hope and I’m losing faith
How I wish you were here
To still the howling wind
Calm the storm within
To rescue me

I’m lost inside and I don’t see light
Caught in the torrid flow
Someone save my sinking soul

Oh how my heart is broken
Oh how my love I have fallen
Such a long way down

Someone rescue me

Beautiful Mystery

No person more lovely
Nobody more dear to me
And If I cannot hold you
I still wish you all the joy in the world

How dark is the universe
How cold is the rain on this Earth

What a beautiful mystery
I’ll search for the key
To unlock your guarded heart
And set your love free

What a beautiful dream
I’ll try more than anything
To unlock your heart
And set your love free

It’s all about moving on
Sometimes the pain is gone
No longer searching for
The treasure in you
I never could own

I smile when I see you now
This planet keeps turning around
And I never cry anymore
Only once in a while

And comes a time for tears in the dark
No need to fake it
Forever your eyes like shining stars

Even when the rain is falling hard
I will find cover
Though it aches to the heart

And when I can’t hold on much longer
To a rope so weathered and frayed
I’d like you to know
For you i'll always stay

Something Wonderful

[ abstracted from a song ]

It's been a while since I saw you
And I don't know what to say

I've flown around the world in circles
since fame and fortune came my way
Girls are all around me now it's true
But I'd rather be with you

Smiling people all around me
Never meaning what they say
All the women that's around me
Pretend they love me all the way

But I don't have to wait until I fall
To realize they don't really care at all

All you have to do is touch my hand
To show me that you understand
And something happens to me
Something wonderful

Anytime my little world turns blue
I just have to look at you
Everything seems to be wonderful
Feelings I cant express

There's so much I want to say
But the right words just don't come my way
I just know when I'm in your embrace
This world is a happy place

And I’ll kiss you and remind you
I have loved you all along
Now you know I'd rather be with you

How could I pass someone so wonderful?

Stitches and Glue

You gave your hand to me
I could hardly speak
My heart was beating with disbelief

My heart you enchanted
Our love I encrusted

But then I watched you walked away
With that lucky guy
You left without even saying goodbye

Raise my glass to our ending
Not that I ever wanted celebrating
A sip to my grand demise
Why you did this I'd never realise

Days go by
Locked inside the prison
I have made in my mind

You left my lips soaked
With remnants of a love
Held together by deception

Revealed is my apathy
Never did I get sympathy
Your spell over me can never be broken
Heartache is just a token

A beautiful contradiction you possessed me
Never could I be set free
Death is masked as my savior
Martyred in your heartless name

My heart won’t be mended
With stitches and glue
I’ve been feeling the blues

I was the one who loved you so
But I guess you just didn’t know

Midnight Serenade

perhaps?

Looking through your window
Into the delicate place
Love letters dancing on your fingertips
But all of them unopened

Like a candle in the night, I saw your face
And as often as I recall
The little flame grew so tall
Burned through my vision
Burned through my walls

So I’m out here
Way beyond a shadow of a doubt
And I’d know that
You’re the only one I’d love

Like a midnight serenade
I’ll sing to you this song
A song to echo through your mind and heart

You’re a dream that became true
I won’t think twice or even three times
Bout falling in love with you

You take me back to the place where stars glow
Comets swarm like fireflies outside your window

With me you’ve been so kind
Lighting up my life
I take all my comfort from you

Like whispers in the rain
You sweetly sing over the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echo their joyous strains

Like lovers in the night
We’d embrace love’s deepest creation
I’d never lose my passion

And this promise I have made
I’ll never let it go and fade
I hope you’ve enjoyed this midnight serenade

So just let me say this to you before I go
I love you and that’s what I’m getting myself into

Deadbeat Sweetheart

familiar anyone?

It seems like just yesterday
We were building on a dream
Just the two of us believed

But some things can never be the explained
Every sky is never the same
How did I ever land in this dire state?

You didn’t want a past to worry about
Just wanted to live life the way stars abound
You said you didn’t feel the same way
Did you know my pain?

It's a lovely day to burn and fade
Let’s light a match
And watch the canvas fall inside the darkness

You broke my heart
Watch me fall apart

Weeds of time
Pictures of old amused in red
Every single antic
Makes me look so pathetic

All around me
It’s like a kissing show
Someone pass me the mistletoe

And in all the stained blood
Smell of dead roses and cheap perfume
Love awoke to find itself poisoned by all my tears

So here I am again
Hiding from the past as I try to make amends

There's a part of me that dies
When you turn away your eyes
I'm alive but not inside.
You shot me so watch me bleed.

All I wanted was your love
But you left me high and dry
You're the part of me that died

Empty Street

Tonight I walk through an empty street
With my shadow stretching right in front of me
This is where my lonely thoughts meet my lonely feet

Tonight I walk through an empty street
The moments and memories pass by
But they mean nothing to me

I sit down by the sidewalk
Lost inside my own heart
Alone in mind and action
Doubt has left me blind

This is our faded portrait
And I’ll be straight with you
Because I can’t possibly leave you without a clue

I’ll write to you
Every chance I get
Tell me you'll listen
And say to me you won't forget

I'll never say I don't have time
When you need me with you
I'll stand in line
If you want me to
And I'll wait for you

If you have something to say
Know I won't look away

And dear I'll sing for you
Songs that no one hears
But tell me you'll listen
And say I'll have your ears

So Tonight I walk through an empty street
With my shadow stretching in front of me
The cold will remind me why I chose this life
And the shadows and light
Will keep me company tonight

Lonely Christmas

I hope it’ll snow this week
Cos the snowflake on your cheek
Would make this Christmas so beautiful

I look under the tree
One box is all I see
I open it up
And it’s a broken heart that you’ve given me

A broken heart wrapped up in a box
You left tear drops in my stocking
I can’t figure you out
Is this what love is all about?

Lost Romantic

Somewhere past the setting sun
Everyone's a lost romantic

I’m a slave for this lonely nation
Is this of any indication

And I can’t take the pain
Feeling like a fool that missed the last train
Its hard to continue this love it just isn’t the same.
Too many games
I thought my feelings for you would never change.

Denial never spoke so loud
You’re not who you used to be
At least to me

And every time I wait for the year to drown
I always fall back down

A ghost on a movie screen is what you seem
You steal the blood inside of me. I can't bleed
You stole the life inside of me. I can't breathe.

You are the one to let our star
Fall down like a stone in a river

I just don’t feel secure
Smiles have come and passed away
Won’t the stars shine for just one more day

And it’s a shame
Cause a lost romantic
Is what I’ve became
